When & where is the Hidden Forest Festival?


The Hidden Forest Festival will be held on Saturday 9 April 2022, at Blackbutt Forest in Shellharbour City.




How do I get there?


By bus: Premier Illawarra Bus Route 53 & 76 can get you to Shellharbour Road, opposite Woodlands Drive from which is a short walk to Blackbutt Forest. By train: The closest train station to Blackbutt Forest is Oak Flats Train Station. From here it is a 20 min bike ride or you can use bus or taxi/uber options. By bike: Blackbutt Forest Reserve is located in the heart of Shellharbour City and is only a short bike ride or walk away from many surrounding suburbs. We will be providing a free bike valet parking service at the festival for patrons. By taxi / uber: Drop off point for the festival will be Blackbutt Forest Reserve off Shellharbour Road. By car: There will be a main designated car park at the eastern end of Blackbutt Forest (entrance from Shellharbour Road) where it is a short walk to the entrance of the festival. We encourage you to arrive early or use other transport options including being dropped off, carpooling, public transport, walking or bikes. Travelling from interstate: Fly from Brisbane and Melbourne straight to Shellharbour Airport!




Is Hidden Forest an all-ages event?


Yes, this is an all-ages event. Children under 16 will need to be accompanied by a paying adult. Chldren aged 6 and over require a ticket. Children 5 and under are free.

While we allow children to attend, please note that the environment & conditions will not be suitable. Some performers may have content or lyrics that may be inappropriate for children. For parents considering bringing a baby, it is not recommended for both the child's wellbeing & safety. Prams & strollers are not permitted in the festival. Please also note that there are no facilities like baby change tables or parent's rooms available on site.




Will there be food and drinks available?


We have an exciting range of stall holders lined up, with a delicious range of food and alcohol options to choose from. To view the stall holder line up visit our 'Stall holders' page.




What if it's raining?


Rain won't stop us partying on! If it is raining on the day, please bring along a poncho or rain jacket to keep you dry.




Can I bring my own food or alcohol?


No, but our wonderful stallholders will have a huge range of delicious food and drinks available for purchase. You can also bring in a sealed bottles of water, or an empty water bottle to fill at our free water refill stations.

We will also be running a fresh fruit station for kids under 12!




Can I use my NSW Dine & Discover voucher?


Yes! You can use your NSW Dine & Discover voucher when purchasing your tickets.

What can't I bring?


BYO Alcohol or liquids of any kind. There will be a range of alcohol & drink options. You can bring an empty drink bottle (not glass) to refill once in the festival. BYO Food. There will be a range of food options. Illegal substances including drugs or drug paraphernalia Weapons of any kind Furniture, umbrellas, tents, marquees or sun shelters Animals including pets Aerosol cans Sporting equipment including balls, bikes, hover-boards, scooters and the like Disposable BBQ Laser pointers - pens or lights Fireworks, flares or sparklers Whistles, horns or musical instruments Drones or other flying devices Professional cameras or recording devices Eskies, flasks, picnic baskets or thermoses Other objects considered by the promoter or venue to be deemed dangerous or capable of causing a public nuisance that could be used to distract, obstruct or interfere with the performance




Can I smoke?


There will be designated smoking area set aside, but smoking in the general access area of the festival is NOT permitted. We ask all patrons to be mindful of the Blackbutt Forest environment and to take great care to help us manage the site. Dispose of your butts safely and in the appropriate bins provided.
